Why We Don't Publish Prices
We don't publish fixed installation prices on the website because every project is different. The cost depends on the size and shape of the area, the existing surface, ground conditions, preparation required, artificial grass selected and complexity of the installation. Two properties with the same lawn area can require very different amounts of preparation and installation work. A price based only on the number of square metres can therefore be misleading. We prefer to assess the property, understand what you need and provide a quotation based on the actual work involved.
What we can do is explain the main components of the cost and the factors that can make one installation more expensive than another, so you can compare quotations with a better understanding of what you are paying for.
The Three Components of Cost
1. The Grass
The artificial grass itself can vary in price depending on its construction, appearance, fibre, pile height, density, backing and intended application. A family garden, dog area, pool terrace and high-traffic space may have different requirements. We help customers compare the available options and select a grass that suits the application rather than simply choosing the cheapest or most expensive product.
2. Ground Preparation
Ground preparation can have a significant effect on the overall cost of an installation — and it is one of the areas where cutting corners can affect the finished result. The amount of preparation required depends on what is already there. Work may include removing existing material, dealing with uneven ground, preparing a suitable base, addressing drainage requirements, levelling the area and creating the appropriate surface for the artificial grass. A garden with good existing conditions may require less preparation, while areas containing builders' rubble, poor soil, old surfaces, drainage problems or significant changes in level may require considerably more work. This is why the condition underneath the grass matters just as much as the grass you see on top. Logistics and site access is also a factor which can vary cost.
3. Installation
Installation covers the skilled work involved in turning the prepared area into a finished artificial grass surface. Depending on the project, this can include measuring and cutting the grass, positioning it correctly, creating and securing joins, forming edges and fixing the installation securely. The shape of the area, number of joins, curves, obstacles, access and other site conditions can all affect the amount of installation work involved. A straightforward open area is very different from a garden containing multiple levels, curves, planting areas, pool surrounds or restricted access.
The Value Calculation
Artificial grass should be considered as a long-term investment in your outdoor space rather than simply a price per square metre. One of the reasons customers choose artificial grass is to reduce the ongoing work associated with maintaining a natural lawn. There is no mowing, fertilising or routine watering required to keep artificial grass green, although the surface may still benefit from occasional specialist cleaning or attention depending on its use. A well-installed artificial grass area can provide a consistently green outdoor space without relying on regular watering or mowing while the property is empty.
The most important comparison is therefore not simply: "How much does the grass cost?" but: "What am I getting for the total investment, and is the installation appropriate for my property?"
